Miss Nepal Beauty Pageant Competition

“Miss Nepal” – An annual beauty pageant event held in Kathmandu, Nepal. This pageant was started in 1996. The first Miss Nepal crowned was Ruby Rana. Later Miss Nepal are  Jharana Bajracharya, Niru Shrestha who is currently a pilot, Malvika Subba and Payal Shakya who are able to make their opportunities high winning this Miss Nepal beauty pageant within the nation.

The recent Miss Nepal pageant held at the Birendra International Convention Centre (BICC) was protested pro-women activists. On April 7th 2007, the Miss Nepal show was held at Birendra International Conference Convention Centre amidst heavy protest from women's rights association. The show which was broadcasted live by Nepal Television did have slight technical glitches occurring along the way. The chief judge for the event was Kollywood actor Rajesh Hamal and the winner of this Miss Nepal 2007 went to Sitashma Chand, who presently hails from the city of Lalitpur. She will be given the opportunity to compete in the coming Miss World pageant representing the nation.

Several fashion designers presented their designs through the contestants in this Miss Nepal beauty pageant competition. The main attractions of the dresses were the nice and beautiful modification of Nepal's ethnic dresses present in this annually held Miss Nepal 2007.
